Adherix Health Names Bariatric Surgeon Dr. Nirav Desai as Clinical Design Partner

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — August 21, 2026 — Adherix Health today announced that Nirav Desai, MD, FACS, FASMBS, ABOM-D has joined the company as Clinical Design Partner and a member of its Bariatric & Metabolic Advisory Board.

Dr. Desai is a fellowship-trained bariatric and foregut surgeon, double board-certified in obesity medicine and general/gastrointestinal surgery. He has treated thousands of patients nationwide and has served as Chief of Bariatric Surgery at multiple accredited centers of excellence. Over his career he has helped build weight loss programs across private practice, hospital systems, academic centers, and national telemedicine, and coordinates delivery of clinical care nationwide. His clinical focus is durable outcomes in metabolic health — combining surgical and pharmacologic treatment with the behavioral work that determines whether results last.

In his role at Adherix, Dr. Desai is working directly with the product team on phase logic, trigger design, and message content for the platform’s bariatric and metabolic pathways, and on the outcome metrics and benchmarks used to validate that the behavioral model holds up clinically before it reaches a patient.
